动词不定式作宾语补足语

在上一个单元，我们学习了动词不定式作宾语的功能，那么，动词不定式的语法功能还

有哪些呢？首先请看下面的句子 :

(1) She asked her roommate to turn down the music. 她请室友把音乐关小一些。

(2) The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) chose the panda to be its symbol.

世界自然基金会选择了大熊猫 ( 形象 ) 作为其标志。

通过以上句子，我们可以发现动词不定式的另外一种语法功能：在 " 动词 + 宾语 + 动

词不定式 " 的结构中充当宾语的补足语。 以上例句中的不定式都作宾语补足语，是对宾

语的补充说明。例如句子 (1) 中 her roommate 作 ask 的宾语， to turn down the

music 作宾语 her roommate 的补足语。可以用于 " 动词 + 宾语 + 动词不定式 " 这一

结构的动词有很多，常见的有 : want, tell, ask, invite, help, allow, choose 等。

需要注意的是 :

1. 以上动词后接不定式作宾语补足语时，若要表达否定的意思，要在 to do 前加 not ，

构成 not to do 的形式。例如 :

Mr Han told us not to make too much noise.

韩先生告诉我们不要弄出太大声音。

Jackie told me not to touch anything. Jackie 告诉我不要碰任何东西。

2. 有些动词后接不定式作宾语补足语时，要将 to 省略，常见的这类动词有 : make, let,

have, hear, feel, see 等。例如 :

I'll have Tony show you around the school. 我会让 Tony 带你参观校园。

His words made everyone laugh. 他的话让大家哄堂大笑。

但是请看这样一句话： Many wild animals don't have a safe place to live. 这里的不定式

是作宾语补足语吗？它和以上例句有何不同呢？请同学们思考。注意：动词 help 后面

可以跟不带 to 的不定式，也可以跟带 to 的不定式。
